Despite only playing in a little over six games during the 2015 season, The Haverford School running back Malik Twyman ran 892 yards and nine touchdowns. Earlier this evening, Twyman ended his recruitment rather quickly by giving a verbal commitment to Colgate University.

Tywman visited Colgate a few weeks ago and was convinced that it was where he wants to be at for the next four years.

"I committed because the school's atmosphere fits me. It's in a rural place (Hamilton, NY)," said Twyman. "Also, the coaches are sincere in what they see in me as a player and they believe I can make an impact in the future."

Twyman's running style is also something that attracted Colgate. "They love my style of running," said Twyman. "Their coaches like the way I can power through a hole and they like my ability to take it 50-60 plus yards after major contact."

It also helps that Colgate already has several running backs that are built similar to Twyman, so it seems that he'll be a perfect fit for their system. "I visited a few weeks ago and plan on going back soon," Twyman added. "The coaches told me exactly what they liked about me and how they plan to use me in their offense. When I visited the campus, all of the running backs were built just like me. I knew right then and there that they were telling me the truth when they said they felt I was the right person for the job."

Twyman could have easily continued to test the waters over the next several months to see if more offers would come in, but Twyman is convinced he's already found the right school for him.

"I admire that the coaches offered me early and that they saw the potential in me," said Twyman. "Earning a full scholarship to Colgate doesn't just benefit me, but it benefits my parents and my future family as well."

Twyman was recently a Top 3 running back performer at the #AllState125 Camp in Philadelphia this past weekend.
